Section 13: Wage period

13. (1) Every employer shall fix a period, (hereinafter referred to as the wage period), at the expiry, and in respect, of which wages shall be payable to his employees.

(2) No wage period shall exceed one month.

(3) The wages of every employee shall be paid within such period as may be prescribed.

(4) The remuneration due to an employee in lieu of unveiled period of leave, and the wages earned by him, shall be paid -

(a) where the termination of his employment is by or on behalf of the employer, before the expiry of the second working day after such termination ; and

(b) where the termination of his employment is by the employee, on or before the next pay day.
