20. (1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the Board shall be responsible for the general superintendence, direction and control of the affairs of the Institute.
(2) Without prejudice to the provisions of sub-section(1), the Board-
(a) shall take steps for the implementation of the decisions of the Institute on
matters of policy relating to the administration of the affairs and
working of the Institute.
(b) shall institute courses of study at the Institute and take decisions on the
advice of the Academic Council on all academic matters including
matters relating to the examinations conducts by the Institute;
(c) shall hold and control the property and funds of the Institute.
(d) may acquire any movable or immovable property on behalf of the
Institute.
(e) shall administer any fund placed at the disposal of the Institute for
specific purposes;
(f) may create to abolish posts of teachers and other employees of the
Institute;
(g) may manage and regulate the finance, accounts, investments, property,
business and all other administrative affairs of the Institute and
for that purpose, appoint such agent as it may think fit,
(h) may invest any money belonging to the Institute (including any income
from endowed property) in such stocks, funds, shares or securities
as it, from time to time, thinks fit;
(i) may enter into, vary, carry-out and cancel contracts on behalf of the
Institute;
(j) may make other decisions in the interest of the Institute on the matters not
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act or the regulations
made thereunder.
