Section 2: Definitions

2- In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires. (a) Academic Council Means the Academic Council of the University constituted under section 22;

(b) Executive Council means the Executive Council of the University constituted under section 14;

(c) Faculty means a Faculty of the University;

(d) General Council means the General Council of the University constituted under section 9;

(e) Hostel means a unit of residence for students maintained of recognized by the University;

(f) Prescribed means prescribed by statutes;

(g) Registrar means the Registrar of the University appointed under section 30;

(h) statutes means the statutes of the University made under section 32;

(i) Secretary-in-Charge means the Principal Secretary or the Secretary, as the case may be, of the concerned department of Government of Uttar Pradesh;

(j) Senior officers of the State means officers of the Provincial Service of Uttar Pradesh posted in the University by the State Government;

(k) Teacher means a teacher employed by the University for imparting education and guiding and conducting research in the University ;

(l)- [University means Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow established under section 3;]

(m) Vice Chancellor means the Vice Chancellor of the University appointed under section 27;

(n) Visitor means the Visitor of University referred to in section 7
