Section 9: The Chancellor

The Uttar Pradesh Gautam Buddha University Act, 2002State Act of Uttar Pradesh · Act 9 of 2002

(1) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh shall be Ex-officio Chancellor of the University.

(2) The Chancellor shall by virtue of his office, be the head of the University.

(3) The Chancellor shall have such powers as may be conferred on him by this Act or the rules made thereunder.

(4) Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor.

(5) The Chancellor shall, if present, preside at the convocation of the University held for conferring degrees and may delegate to nay officer of the University such of his powers as he may consider necessary.
