Section 28: Ban on direct recharging from open areas into the aquifers

The Uttar Pradesh Ground Water (Management and Regulation) Act, 2019State Act of Uttar Pradesh · Act 13 of 2019

(1) In the process of Artificial Recharge to Ground Water from rain water (except from rooftop) falling on open land, ground, roads (paved/unpaved), agricultural farms shall not be allowed for direct recharging into the aquifers through recharge well, bore well, recharge shaft, injection well etc.

(2)Any person who contravenes the provision of sub-section-(1) shall be liable to be punished under sub-section (2) of section 39.
