Section 3: Transfer of assets and liabilities

3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the King George's Medical University Act, 2002 and on and from the date of repeal of the Act referred to in section 2,-

(a) the land around the King George's University of Dental Science and building of provincial ilygene Institute which is part of Medical Faculty and all properties and assets, including land, buildings, hostels, furnitures fittings, fixtures, plants, machines, appliances, libraries, laboratory and vehicles belonging to the King George's University of Dental Science (hereinafter referred to the erstwhile University) shall stand transferred from the erstwhile University to and vest in the King George's Medical University (hereinafter referred to as the University);

(b) all properties and assets pertaining to the erstwhile University whether acquired or created out of grants from the State Government or otherwise, including any cash balances held by the erstwhile University or on its accounts, whether as deposit in bank or otherwise, shall stand transferred from erstwhile University to and vest in the University;

(c) all rights, powers and privileges, debis, duties, liabilities and obligation of the erstwhile University, contractual or otherwise arising or accured or incurred in relation to the affairs of the erstwhile University shall stand transferred to the University;

(d) all references, in any will deed or other document whether made or executed before the date of repeal of the Act referred to in section 2, which contains any bequest, gift, endowment or trust in favour of the erstwhile University for the purposes of the Faculty of Dental Sciences shall be construed as if the University was named therein instead of the erstwhile University:

(e) the erstwhile University shall become the Faculty of Dental Science of the University,

(f) any student of the erstwhile University who was studying immediately before the date of repeal for any examination of the erstwhile University shall continue his studies as a student of the University and shall be permitted to complete his courses in preparation therefore, and shall be admitted to the examination of the University,

(g) every teacher or other employee of the erstwhile University duly appointed in connection with the affairs of the erstwhile University and serving therein immediately before the date of repeal shall, become a teacher or other employee of the University;

(h) all suits, appeals or other legal proceedings instituted by or against the erstwhile University and pending on the date of repeal, may be continued, prosecuted or enforced by or against the University.
