Section 59: Election to unfilled seats

Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Panchayat and Zila Panchayat (Member of Elections), Rule, 1994State Rules of Uttar Pradesh · 1961

(1) On receipt of reporF of any seat rem:

unfilled, the District Magistrate shall, as soon as may be, in accordance with instructions of the State Election Commission, call upon the Co“sfiluency the cerned to elect a member for the Kshettra Panchayat or the Zila Panch, ayat a:?}rllcase may be, before such date as may be fix('ed by 'h1lm and shall also appoint e fresh date, time and place for each item mentioned in Sub-rule (2) of Rule 15 an;

the provisions of these rules shall, as the case may be, apply in relation to the election of a member to fill such vacancy.

(2) If again the constituency fails to elect a member at the election held under Sub-rule (1), the District Magistrate shall report the fact to the State Election Commission.
