Section 7: University open to all classes, castes and creed

7. The University shall be open to all persons irrespective of class, creed or sex :
Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent the University from making special provisions for admission of students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, other Backward Classes of citizens and such other categories as may be specified by the State Government in this behalf ;
Provided further that nothing in this section shall be deemed to require the University or a constituent college to admit in any course of study a larger number of students than may be determined by the Statutes.
