Section 33: Alteration or amendment of Delimitation Order and its effect

33. (1) The State Government may, by a subsequent Order, alter or amend any final Order under sub-section (3) of section 32.

[(1-A) For the alteration or amendment of any order under sub-section (1) the provisions of sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 32 shall mutatis mutandis apply.

(2) Upon alteration or amendment of any final Order under this section the State Government shall apportion the existing [Corporators] to the altered ro amended wards so as to provide so far as is reasonably practicable for their continuing to represent as large a number as possible of their former constituents.

(3) An existing [Corporator] shall hold his office in the ward to which he is assigned for the same period that he would have held it had the wards remained unaltered and unamended.
