Section 286: Bathing and washing places

286. The Municipality may set apart suitable places for the purpose of bathing, and may specify the times at which, and the sex of the persons by whom, such places may be used, and may be used, and may also set apart suitable places for washing animals or clothes or other things ; and may by public notice prohibit bathing or the washing of animals or clothes or other things in a public place not so set apart, or at times or by persons other than those specified, and may in like manner prohibit an * * * * act by which water in public places [or rivers] may be rendered foul or unfit for use of which causes or is likely to cause inconvenience or annoyance to persons lawfully using such places.
