An Act to further amend the Uttar Pradesh Shrav Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1965.
In the Twenty-ninth Year of the Republic of India the following Act is hereby enacted:—
1. Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Labour Claims (Amendment)Act, 1978.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 30th day of May, 1978.
Uttar Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1965 as amended by Section 122
2.--In the Uttar Pradesh Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in Section 2, in clause (12), for the words "three years", the words "two years" shall be substituted.

3.- In section 4 of the principal Act, after sub-section (6), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:- Will be:
"(7) The quorum for any meeting of the Council shall be one-fifth of the total number of members of the Council for the time being.
Provided that when it becomes necessary to suspend any business due to lack of quorum at a meeting, the Chairman shall adjourn the meeting to some other date and the business so suspended due to lack of quorum shall be transacted on such date or, in the case of further adjournment of the meeting to a subsequent date, on such date, notwithstanding any deficiency in the number of members present."

4. In Section 6 of the principal Act:
(i) for sub-section (4), substitute the following sub-section, namely:- "(4) From the date on which the allowance accumulations are paid to the Council: The period under subsection (3) shall be not less than once in three periods during the period of demand.
(a) Those of the uninitiated in which slow information is tested
(b) The employee shall be served with a certificate sent to him at his permanent address by the registered police station.
(c) to become a member of the trade board of the concerned NJSC, if any, and to become an employee."
(ii) in sub-section (6), for the words "within four years from the date of first publication of the notice in the Budget", the words "within one year from the date of first publication" shall be substituted.
amendment of dhara 7 5-In section 7 of the principal Act after sub section (2), after clause (d), the following words shall be inserted, namely:- "(o) after serving the notice under sub-section (4) of section 6 and filling up the publication, such maximum percentage as may be specified by the State Government by notification."

6. In addition to the principal Act, after section 127, the following charges shall be added, namely:— Section 7.--The Council may, with the prior approval of the State Government, levy five per cent. of the final amount of rent paid for the purpose of meeting the expenditure incurred in enrolling the employees on publication of the said notice.
Repeals and exceptions Ordinance Establishment 24, No. 1977-- (1) The Uttar Pradesh Shram Kalyan Nidhi (Amendment) Order, Uttar Pradesh, 1977 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding the said Act, any land acquired by the assessee under section (1) of the said Act shall continue to be deemed to have been acquired by the assessee under this Act as if the said Act had been in force at the time of such enactment.
