(i) A person on probation, if he is not already in the permanent service of a Palika or Jal Sansthan, as the case may be, shall draw during the period of probation, the minimum pay of the post for the first year and increments as they accure, provided that if the period of probation is extended on account of failure to give satisfaction, the extended period shall not account for increment unless the competent authority so directs, but on conformation, he shall be allowed pay as would be admissible to him according to his length of service.
(2) The pay during the period of probation of a person who is already holding a Substantive post in the service of a Palika or Jal Sansthan, as the case may be, before recruitment to the Centralised Services, shall be fixed in accordance with the relevant rules relating to the fixation of pay of the employees of the Palika or Jal Sansthan, as the case may be.
