Section 12: Physical fitness

The Uttar Pradesh Palika and Jal Sansthans Water Works Engineering (Centralised) Services Rules, 1996State Rules of Uttar Pradesh · 1959

No person shall be appointed substantively to a post in the Centralised Services unless he be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his official duties.

Before a candidate is finally approved for appointment by direct recruitment to a post in the Superior Service he shall be required to appear before the State Medical Board for a medical examination :

Provided that the person approved for the appointment to a post in the subordinate Service shall be required to obtain a certificate of physical fitness from the Chief Medical Officer.
