Section 2: Definitions

Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Reservation and Allotment of Seats and Posts) Rules-1994State Rules of Uttar Pradesh · 1947

In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,-

(a) "Act" means the United Provinces Panchayat Raj Act, 1947;

(b) "Constituent Gram Panchayat" and "Khand" shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Uttar Pradesh Kshettra Panchayats and Zila Panchayats Act, 1961;

(c) "Territorial constituency" means a territorial constituency referred to in clause (d) of subsection (1) of Section 12 of the Act.

2 [(d) 'previous election' means the General Election of 2015 and the subsequent General Elections.]
