2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,
(i) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University constituted under section 24;
(ii) “Board” means the Board of Governors of the University constituted under section 20;
(iii) “Chancellor” means the Chancellor of the University referred to in section 9;
(iv) "Dean" means the Deans of the University appointed under section 13;
(v) “Director of Research and Development” means the Director of Research and Development of the University appointed under the provisions section 28;
(vi) “General Council” means the General Council of the University Constituted under Section 16;
(vii) "Directors" means the Directors of the Institutes or the centres of the University appointed under section 29;
(viii) "Vice-Chancellor" means the Vice-Chancellor of the University appointed under section 10;
(ix) "Finance Committee" means the Finance Committee of the University constituted under section 26;
(x) "prescribed" means prescribed by regulations;
(xi) "Registrar" means the Registrar of the University appointed under section 12;
(xii) "Finance Officer" means the Finance Officer of the University appointed under section 14;
(xiii) "University" means the Uttar Pradesh Police and Forensic Science University established and incorporated under section 3.
