Section 62: Conduct of suits and legal proceedings

62. (1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2) and such other conditions as may be prescribed, the Chairman or such members of the Bhumi Prabandhak Samiti as may be authorized in this behalf by such Samiti, may sign any document and do all other things for the proper conduct and prosecution of suits and other proceedings for and on behalf of the [ Gram Panchayat].

(2) No suit or other proceedings to which any 1Gram Panchayat is a party shall be compromised or withdrawal on behalf of such [ Gram Panchayat], unless such compromise or withdrawal is approved by a resolution of the Bhumi Prabandhak Samiti and prior sanction of the Sub-Divisional Officer is obtained
