Section 273: Verification by Administrator General

The Board of Revenue may dispense with the use of affidavits in applications filed by the Administrator General in connection with the payment of court-fees due or refund of excess fees paid on Letters of Administration.

Section 29 (2) of the Administrator General's Act (III of 1913) says that no Administrator General shall be required to verify, otherwise than by his signature, any petition presented by him under the provisions of that Act, and if the facts stated in any such petition are not within the Administrator General's own personal knowledge, the petition May he subscribed and verified by any person competent to make the verification. Sections 19-A and 19-E of the Court Fees Act, have not, the effect of over-riding Section 29 (2) of the Administrator General's Act, 1913. They are general provisions not professing to deal with the Administrator General's at all and they should not, therefore, be read as controlling Sec,. 29

(2) of the Administrator General's Act which is special enactment dealing with the Administrator General alone.
