Section 40: Meeng of the Commiee (Secon 40(2)(iv)

(1) Every Meeng of the Market Commiee other than those referred to in sub-rule (1) of Rule 35 or Rule 38 shall be prescribed over by the Chairman or in his absence by the Vice-Chairman, and in the absence of both, by a member elected by the members present in the meeng.

(2) TheChairmanshallbeentledtospeakandvoteonallquesonahemeeng.

(3) The Vice-Chairman or the Member presiding over a Meeng in the absence of the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman shall, for that meeng or during the period in which he presides over it, have all the Powers of the Chairman.

(4) Subject to the provisions of Secon 12 of the Act, all quesons which may come upbefore the Market Commiee, at an meeting shall be decided by a majority of votes of the members present and vong and in every case of equality of votes, the Chairman or the Vice-Chairman or Presiding Member shall have a second or casng vote.
