Section 51: Prohibition to practice

The United Provinces (Indian Medicine) Act, 1939State Act of Uttar Pradesh · Act 10 of 1939

No person other than a practitioner registered under Part II of the Act or person whose name is entered in the list mentioned in section 50 shall practice or hold himself out, whether directly or by implication as practicing or as being prepared to practice the [Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbi system of medicine] surgery or midwifery :

Provided that the [State Government] may, by notification in the official Gazette, direct that the provisions of this section shall not apply to any class of persons or in a specified area
