Section 64: Recovery of taxes and other sums due

The Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1975State Act of Uttar Pradesh · Act 43 of 1975

(1)- Any sum due to a Jal Sansthan on account of tax, fee, cost of water, cost of disposal of waste water, the meter-rent, penalty, damage or surcharge under this Act, shall be recoverable as arrears of land revenue.

(2)- Nothing in sub-section (1) shall affect the power of a Jal Sansthan to cut off in accordance with its bye-laws, the connection of water supply in the event of nonpayment by the consumer of any dues referred to in that sub-section.
