(1) No suit shall be instituted against any Committee, its Chairman, Vice-chairman or any member, officer or servant thereof, for anything done, or purported to be done, in its or his official capacity until the expiration of two months from the date of service of a notice in writing, stating the cause of action, the name and place of abode of the plaintiff and the relief claimed. (2) The notice under sub-section (1) shall - (i) where it is a notice to the Committee, be delivered at its office on any working day or handed to its Chairman, Vice-chairman or Secretary or be sent by registered post; (ii) in any other case, be delivered to the person concerned or be sent by registered post; and (iii) nothing in sub-section (1) shall be construed to apply to suit wherein the only relief claimed is an injunction, of which the object would be defeated by the giving of the notice or the postponement of the commencement of the suit or proceeding.
