The West Bengal Acupuncture System Of Therapy Act, 1996State Act of West Bengal · Act 8 of 1996
(1) No person shall use any letters or figures after his name indicating or implying that he possesses any degree, diploma, licence, or certificate as an Acupuncture practitioner unless such degree, diploma, licence or certificate has been conferred by the Council, or is recognised by it with the approval of the State Government.
(2) Whoever contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be punishable, on first conviction, with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, and, on any subsequent conviction, with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees.
