(1) If any person contravenes, or attempts to contravene, or abets Penalties.

the contravention of, any provision of this Act or the rules made thereunder, he shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees or with both.

(2) Whoever, after conviction under sub-section (1), continues the contravention of any provision of this Act or the rules made thereunder, he shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees for every day after the first day, during which such contravention continues.
