Section 10: Determination of poor and economically Backward Classes

The State Government in consultation with other relevant Departments of the Government, determine the criteria for identifying a person or student to be belong to the economically Backward Classes.

(2) The State Government may, from time to time, determine and notify the appropriate authorities who will be competent to issue certificate identifying the poor and economically Backward Classes.

(3) The University shall make provisions for reservation of five percent of its whole intake capacity for the economically weaker persons domiciled in the State of West Bengal.
