Method of Recruitment :
By selection from the posts of Special Public Health-cum-Administrative Officers - Group - A and Special Public Health-cum-Administrative Officers - Group - B:
Provided that a Selection Committee shall be made for selection to the post.
Subject to the provisions of the West Bengal State Health Service Act, 1990 (West Ben. Act V[l of 1990), the promotion at each stage to posts, mentioned in sub-rule (2) to sub-rule (7) of rule (2), shall be made on the basis of merit cum-seniority in such manner as would be adjudicated by a duly constituted "Departmental Promotion Committee".
Note:- Notwithstanding anything contrary contained elsewhere in these rules, the essential qualifications for recruitment to the posts of Special Public Health-cum-Administrative Officer - Group - B, Special Public Health-cum-Administrative Officer - Group - A and Director of Health Services, with effect from 1st day of January 2015, shall be MBBS Degree included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or part - II of the Third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act.
1956 (102 of 1956) and registered as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal and recognised Postgraduate degree or Postgraduate diploma in Public Health, Epidemiology. Health Management Science and Hospital Administration.
