Section 26

The West Bengal Security Act, 1950State Act of West Bengal · Act 19 of 1950

(1) Any officer of Government authorised in this behalf by general or special order of the State Government may, within such area as may be specified in the order, require any male person in that area to assist in the maintenance or restoration of law and order or in the protection of property for such period and in such manner as the officer may direct.

(2) If any person fails to comply with any lawful direction given to him under sub-section (1), he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine or with both.
