GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL Department of Disaster Management & Civil Defence, Nabanna, 2™ floor, 325, Sarat Chatterjee Road, Mandirtala, Shibpur, Howrah - 711 102 JS NOTIFICATION No. 283-CD/O/NVF-8C-0 1/2017 Dated : 28.02.2019 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 oi the West Bengal National Volunteer Force Act, 1949 (West Bengal Act I of 1949), read with clause (2) of Rule 12 of the West Bengal National Volunteer Force Rules, 1949, the Governor is pleased hereby to make, with immediate effect, the following amendments in West Bengal Subordinate Services and the Subordinate and Other Services (Recruitment of Employees of the West Bengal National Volunteer Foréé) Rules, 1973 issued with the notification no. 3642-HD/1R-10/73 dated the 4% September 1973 and published in the Calcutta Gazette Extraordinary, Part-I dated 6" September, 1973 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules);
AMENDMENTS In the said rules,—
1. In Sub-rule (f) of Rule 4 under the heading "Agragamis”, substitute the following sub-rule:— "(f) Agragamis A. Method of recruitment. — by selection through direct recruitment of-
(a) 90% of the post to be filled up from amongst the trained West Bengal National Volunteers Force (WBNVF);
and
(b) Remaining 10% of the post to be filled up by Ex-Servicemen, on the basis of a Competitive Examination to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) as per scheme of examination to be issued by the Government from time to time:

B. Qualifications, age and other requirements for recruitment :—
(a) Minimum Educational Qualification: Must have passed Madhyamik Examination of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent, .
(b) Age: Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years of age as on 1* day of January of the year of advertisement. The upper age limit is relaxable in respect of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward

In sub-rule (i) of Rule 5, for the words “All recruitments shall be made” substitutes the words “All recruitments, except for the post of ‘Agragamis’, shall be made,”;
After sub-rule (iv) of Rute 5, insert the following sub-rule;
“(v) The recruitment to the post of Agragami shall be made through the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) and the scherne of examination shall be issued by The State Government in the Department of Disaster Management and Civil Defence, from time to time."

ii, Syllabus for the Writte:
Questions shall be set to test th&General knowledge of the candidate including his awareness to Current affairs in different spheres of life with special emyhasis on West Bengal. QugStions in Arithmetic shall be set on the basis of the Syllabus upto Madhyamik Examination ofWest Bengal Board 9f Secondary Education.
iii, Physical Measurement Test (PMT) The candidate who qualify in the Written EXqmingtfon shall be required to appear in a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) as per criteria laid down under Rule B (c) of ese rules which shall be conducted at the venues to be selected by WBPRB.
iv. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) The candidate who found fit in the PHysical Measuremekt Test shall be required to appear in a Physical Efficiency Test which shall consist of 800 metre yan in 200 seconds.
v. Personality Test a. The candidates shorfisted on the basis of Written Examinatidy and found fit in the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Effigfency Test shail be required to appear in a Persdyality Test. The total number of such shortlisted candidates to pe called for Personality Test shall be determined b)\WBPRB.
