( l) Whcre the lribunal issues summons to a GoYemmcnt servant to Sive cvidence or to produce docutllcr)ts. the person so summoned may draw from the Governmcnt traveling and daily allowances adrnissible to hint as pcr rules.

Where there is no provision for payment ofTA and DA by the employer to the person summoned to givC evidence or to produce ddcuments, he shall be entitldd. to be paid as batta, (a sum found by the Registrar sufficient to defray the traveling and other cxpenses), having regard to the status and position of the witness. The party applying for the summons shall deposit with the Registrar the amount of batta as estimated by the n egislrar well before the summons is issued. lf the witness is summoned as a court witness, the amount estimated by the Registrar shall be paid as per the directions ofthe Tribunal.
(3) The aforesaid provisions would govern the palment of batta to the interpreter as well
