(1) The re shall be a Managing Com mit tee for every Dis trib uto r)' Committee.

(2) The Dist rict Collector shall make arr angeme nt, in the manne r prescr ibed, for the election by the method of secret ballot, of the President and members of the Managing Committee who shall not be more than five from among the m embers of the General Body of the Distr ibutary Committee provided that the Government for the reasons to be recorded in writing, may postpone elections if situation demands so.

(3) If, at an election held under sub-section (2), the Pres iden t and the members of the Managing Committee a re no t elected, fresh election shall be held in the prescribed manner.

(4) The term of office of the President and the members of the Managing Commit tee shall, if not recalled earlie r be for a period of 3(three) years from the date of its first meeting.

(5) The Managing Committee shall exercise the powers and perform the functions of the Distr ibutary Committee.
