If any qgestion arises regarding the intcrpretation of any provision of this Act or any Statutcs or as to whether a person has i*ot A,*V appoinrcd or nominated or is entitled to be a member of nny auttrb*ty or body of the University, ttrc matlor shall be rcferred to the Chancellor.
Thc Chancellor shall aftcr taking such advice as he may deem nccessary decide the question and his decision thcreon shall be Iinal.
The Government shatl have the right to causc inspection, to be made by such persoq or psrsons as they may direct, of the University, its buildings, libraries, museulns, workshops and equipmcnt ot any institrrtion maintained, afiiliated to or approved by th" University, and to cause enquiry to be made ia respect of any matter connected withthe University.
The Government shall, before taking any action undcr subsection(l), give notice to the University ofttreir intentionto cause such inspection or cnquiry to be made and the University shall be entitled to be represented there aL The Government shrll communisate to the Board the rcsult of any inspoction or inquiry made under sub-s€ction (l) and may, after ascertaining the opinion of the Board thereon, oonvey their vicws to the Vice-Chancellor aod to the Board.
The Governmcnt may, after considering views of the Vice Chanoellor and the Board on the result of any inspection or inquiry made under sub-section (l) advise the University upon the action to be taken in the matter.
The Board shall report to the Government the action, if any, which is proposed to bc taken or has boeo taken upon the resuit of any inspection or inquiry made under sub-section (1).
A .report under sub-section (5) shall be submitted to the Govemment wi& the opinion of the Board thereon and within such time as lhe Government may direct, Where the Board does not, within a reasonable time, take any action referred to in sub-section (a) to the satisfaction of the Governmerrt, the Government rnay after considering any explanation furnished by the Board in the matter, issue such dircctions as it may think fit, and thc Board shall comply with such directions.
