Section 21: Accounts

(1) Proper accounts pertaining to the canteen shall be maintained. All books oi accounts, registers or any other documents u.sed in connection with the running of a cantein shall be produced on demand before an lnsPector.

22. Canteen Managing Commitlee'- (1) The employer shall constitute a Canteen Managing C-omitittee which shall meet at:least once in three months and shall advise the employer as to -

(a) the quality and quantity of food stuffs to be'served in the canteen;

(b) the arrangement of the menus;

(c) times of meals in the canteen; and

(d) any othcr matter as may be directed by the Committee' iri f tr" Cinteen Managing Committee shall consist of an equal number 24 I The Etihar Motor Tran;port Workers Rules, 1962 I Rule 23 of persons nominated by the employer and by the motor transport workers' representatives on the Work Committee constituted under Sub-section (1) of Section 3 of lndustrial Disputes Act, 1947 (Act XIV of 1g4zl respectively. tn absence of a Works Committee in the'undertaking the representatives of motor transport workers on the Canteen Managing Committee shall be elected by motor transport workers. The number of elected workers shalt be in the proportion of one for every 500 workers employed in the undertaking.

- Provided that in no ca$e shall there be more than 5 or less than 2 motor transport workers on the Committee.

(3) The employer shalt, in consultation with the duly registered tra6e union or unions det'erntine the procedure for and supervise the election of the representative of the motor transpoft workers to the Canteen Managing Committee.

(a) The mer.pber of the Canteen Managing Committee shall hold o.ffice for a period of tratr years from the date on which it is constituted :' Provided thatt g6Dh members shall notwithstanding the expiration of their term continue to hold their office untit the constitution of the next Canteen Managing Comrnittee.
