Section 58: Powers of inquiry officer

For the purpose of any inquiry referred to in rule 57, the inquiry officer may summon and enforce the attendance of Witnesses and compel them to give evidence as if he were a Civil Court, and may also direct by whom the whole or any part of the costs of the inquiry shall be paid and such cost's shall except to such extent as they may be directed to be recovered from the deposit made under rule 56, be recoverable as if they had been awarded in a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908).
