Section 8: Structure to be f ire -proof

(1) Subject to the provision of Sub -rule (3), al l cinemas shall be enclosed within the proper exte rnal or part ly walls of bricks, stone or concrete (plans, hallow or reinforced) and the floors, t iers and roof of the auditorium and all parts used by the public shall be constructed of fire -resist ing materials :

Provided that the following materials may be used for the ceil ing namely:— Acoustic Celotex, Asbestos Spray, Canoc, Celotex, Herakli th, Insuli te Building Board (Termitex), and Insuli te Hard Board and Tyuzne Wexna Insulation board, Insulwood.

Treatax, Acoste sound Insulation Board, Light Create Unika Sound Insulating board and Unitene.

Acoustic Tiles, Gypsum Panel Board, Thermocaustic, Thermofriez,

(2) In the case of touring cinemas, the external walls of the auditorium shall be constructed of the fire -resist ing materials. Such cinemas may not have roof over the auditorium.

(3) Nothing in sub-rule (1) shall apply to premises duly l icensed in any part of the State for use for cinematograph exhibit ion before the coming into force of these 10 rules expect that the ceil ing of such premises, if not made of fire -resist ing materials, shall be replaced by the fire -resist ing material .
