Section 9: Punishment on contravention

The Felling of Trees Rule, 2022State Rules of Chhattisgarh · 1959

(1) When any revenue officer has reason to believe that a tree has been cut in contravention of the provisions of these rules, such tree may be seized by or under the written order of the revenue officer.

(2) Where the revenue officer is an officer other than the Sub-Divisional Officer (revenue) a report of such seizure shall, within 07 workdays, be made by him to the Sub- Divisional Officer (revenue), for such action as he may deem fit under Section 253 of the Code.

10. The appeal, revision and review, against the order/recommendation issued under these rules, may be in the manner, as provisioned in the Code.

11. The provisions of the Chhattisgarh Adim Janjatiyon ka Sanrakshan (Vraksho me Hit) Adhiniyam, 1999 (No. 12 of 1999) shall be applicable in relation to the Bhumiswami of the Scheduled Tribes class of the State.
