Section 57: Power of President and Vice-President to call special meeting

The President or in the event of his being incapable of acting, the Vice President, may whenever he thinks fit, call a special meeting and shall be bound to do so within two weeks of the receipt of a written requisition signed by not less than one-third of the total number of elected Councillors.

Provided that if on receipt of requisition the special meeting is not convened within the stipulated time by the President or the Vice President, as the case may be, the Chief Municipal Officer shall convene such meeting under intimation to the State Government.
