Section 16: Training

Coast Guard (Condition of Service) Rules, 1986Central Rules · 1978

Persons recruited to the service shall undergo a course of training prescribed by the Director-General from time to time.

17. Promotion. (1) Enrolled persons shall be eligible for promotion as per the provisions of recruitment rules for various categories of personnel.

(2) Seniority, qualifications, procedure for promotion, reversion and constitution of Departmental Promotion Committee shall be as promulgated by the Central Government from time to time.

(3) Enrolled persons shall be promoted to the next higher rank on fulfillment of conditions / qualifications, as promulgated and subject to the availability of vacancies.
