Section 18: Effect of conviction by civil authorities

When an enrolled person is convicted by a civil authority and receives any punishment for an offence which has brought disgrace or discredit on the uniform, the service or the position which the person holds, he may be awarded the following penalties with the prior approval of the Inspector- General in Coast Guard headquarters, namely : —

(a) Break in continuity of very Good Conduct (The date of break in such cases shall be the date of conviction).

(b) Award of inferior character on the next occasion of assessment.
