Under normal circumstances no enrolled person shall be permitted to refuse promotion. However, such refusal may be permitted under special circumstances with the approval of the Director-General. If subsequently, the individual desires to be promoted he may be required to submit an application in this regard to his Commanding Officer and his case shall be considered on its merits by the Departmental Promotion Committee along with the next batch of promotees. Such an application may be submitted only after a year of the refusal.
