Section 44: Maintenance of state register of Motor Vehicles

The State Register of Motor Vehicles shall be maintained in each zonal office and its copy shall be endorsed to Joint Director of Transport Department every month in form 41.

26 [44-A Manner of maintaining State Register of Motor Vehicles and additional matters to be incorporated in SMART CARD prescribed under Form 23A.- The State Register of Motor Vehicles shall be maintained in electronic form, in the prescribed Form 23A and shall also contain the following additional information as specified in part “B’ thereof namely:-

PART-B Additional information in Smart Card

(1)The previous details of tax record of cardholder.

(2)Past history of accident(s) by the cardholder.

(3)Biometrics (thumb impression photographs,etc.)

(4)Complete database of pending prosecution cases received from other zonal offices and other States.

(5)Particulars of wanted notes received from other Government Departments, i.e. Police, Excise, etc.

(6)Any other relevant information ordered to be included from time to time.
