Section 53: Application for permits

(1) Every application for a permit in respect of transport vehicle shall be addressed to the Secretary, State Transport Authority., Delhi, and be in one of the Form prescribed for different categories of vehicles as under:

Category of Transport Vehicle Form Prescribed Particular Stage Carriage P.St.A Reserve of Stage Carriage P.R.S.A.

Contract Carriage P.C.A.

Goods Carrier P.G.A.

Temporary Permit P.TEM.A.

Private Service Vehicle P.S.A.

(2)(a) Application for the renewal of permit countersignature shall be made in Form P.R.A. and addressed to the Secretary of the State Transport Authority by which the permit was issued /countersigned not less that fifteen days before the expiry of the permit and shall be accompanied by the permit.

(b)The application shall state the period for which the renewal is required and shall be accompanied by the prescribed fee.

(3)In granting any permit the State Transport Authority shall have power to make the terms of the application in a reasonable degree, and in such case the application shall be deemed to be an application for a permit in the form granted.
