(1) If a Gateman notices that a train has parted, he shall not show a stop Hand signal to the Loco pilot, but shall endeavour to attract the attention of the Loco pilot by shouting, gesticulating or by moving a green flag by day and a white light by night up and down vertically as high and low as possible or through approved means of communication, if provided.
(2) He shall then inform the Station Master of the station in rear and prepare himself to stop any train approaching from behind depending upon the location of the rear portion of the parted train if within his reach.
(3) In case of derailment he shall also assist train crew in taking action to protect the adjacent track provided he is in position to leave the gate.
