The Gujarat Rural Debtors' Relief Act, 1976State Act of Gujarat · Act 35 of 1976

(1) The amount of debt as reduced under sub-clause (b) of clause (ii) of subsection (3) of section 8 in the case of any debtor shall be paid by the debtor to the creditor, without any interest, in ten equal annual instalments :

Provided that the first instalment shall be payable on such date as the debt settlement officer may specify in the order passed under sub-clause (b) of clause (ii) of sub-section (3) of section 8.

(2) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (/), the order of the debt settlement officer passed under sub-clause (b) of clause (ii) of sub-section (3) of section 8 shall be executed by the Civil Court having jurisdiction in the area in which the debtor resides as if it were a decree or order of that Court.
