Section 18: Constitution of Dispute Redressal Committee

(1) The State Government shall constitute one or more Dispute Redressal Committees for redressal of grievances or resolution of the disputes of the street vendors. (2) The State Government shall decide the area of jurisdiction and the headquarters of each Dispute Redressal Committee. (3) (a) The State Government shall appoint a Civil Judge or a Judicial Magistrate as the Chairperson and two other persons as the members of the Dispute Redressal Committee. (b)Out of two other members of the Committee, one shall be a retired Deputy Municipal Commissioner of a Municipal Corporation or retired Chief Officer of a Municipality in the region and the other member of the Committee shall be a prominent social worker,

(4) The tenure of the Dispute Redressal Committee shall be three years. (5) The Chairperson and the members of the Dispute Redressal Committee shall be paid such remuneration as may be prescribed by the State Government from time to time.
