(1) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this Act, penalty and or of any rule made thereunder, he shall be punishable with rigorous mgnizancc of imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine offen'=.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, all offences punishable under this Act and the rules made thereunder shall be cognizable.]
