The provisions of this Act shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the provisions of Chapter IX (relating to the order of maintenance of wife, children and parents) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the provisions of any law for the time being in force in respect of a suit or proceeding for maintenance.
