(1) Every Officer, Teachers and employee of the University shall, on appointment as such, be provided with a letter of appointment containing such terms and conditions of appointment as may be prescribed in the Regulations governing service matters of the University.
(2) An Officer or an employee of the University shall be on probation for a period of one year in the first instance. In case his appointment has been continued for over a period of one year he shall be deemed to be on probation for a period of one year commencing from the date of his first appointment within a continuous period of two years :
Provided that it shall be competent for the Board to extend the period of probation for a period not exceeding one year.
(3) On satisfactory completion of probation, the incumbent appointed for the post shall be confirmed by a written order.
(4) If, on the expiry of the prescribed period or extended period of probation, the Board decides that the Officer or employee is not suitable for continuance in the post to which he has been appointed, it shall discharge him from service after giving him a reasonable opportunity of being heard.
