Section 3: Term of Office

(1) A member appointed by the Central Government under sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Act, shall hold office ordinarily for a period of three years extendable to 5 years as may be determined by the Central Government, having regard to the circumstances of each case.

(2) The term of office of a member shall be computed from the date he assumes office.
