(1) In these regulations unless the context otherwise requires,-
(a) ‘Appointing Authority’ means the Commissioner as specified under regulations 2(c) of the city of the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation Services (General) Cadre and Recruitment Regulations, 1971;
(b) “Contract Pourakarmikas” mean who are working in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike as NMR / Daily wages/ Contract / out source/ others on who have served for not less than two years and continues to work as such on the date of commencement of these rules.
(c) ‘Schedule’ means a Schedule appended to these rules;
(d) ‘Selection’ means selection of candidates in accordance with the provisions of these rules;
(e) ‘Selection Committee’ means a selection committee constituted under rule 3; and
(f) ‘Vacancies’ means the number of vacant posts as specified in the schedule to be filed up under these rules.
(2) Other words and expressions used but not defined in these rules, shall have the same meaning assigned to them in the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation Services (General) Cadre and Recruitment Regulations, 1971.
