Section 2: Definitions

(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(a) “Appointing Authority” means the State Government;

(b) “Qualifying Examination” means the minimum qualification prescribed for direct recruitment to the posts specified in column (4) of the schedule;

(c) “Schedule” means the schedule appended to these rules;

(d) “Selection Authority” means the special recruitment committee constituted under rule 3; and

(e) “Vacancies” means the number of vacant posts to be filled up as specified in column (3) of the schedule.

(2) Words and expressions used but not defined in these rules shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (General Cadre and Recruitment of Officers and Employees) Rules, 2020.
