For rule 5 of the said rules the following shall be substituted, namely:- “5. Entrance Test Committee:- (1) Subject to provisions of these rules, there shall be a State Common Entrance Test Committee consisting of the following members, namely:-
(1) The Vice Chancellor Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

(2) The Director of Medical Education Member
(3) The Dean and Director, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institution (BMRCI)
(4) The Dean and Director, Mysore Medical College and Research Institution (MMCRI) Member Member
(5) The Director, Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli Member
(6) The Director, Vijaynagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary Member
(7) The Dean and Director, Government Dental College, Bangalore: Member
(8) The Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority Member Secretary.
Provided that, in case all private Professional Colleges agree and opt to fill all their seats except the seats reserved for Non Resident Indian students through the Karnataka Examinations Authority, then the State Government may by notification, re- Constitute the State Common Entrance Test Committee consisting of such number of members, as it deems fit, including representatives from the management of private unaided Professional Educational Institutions.
(2) The Committee through the Karnataka Examinations Authority, shall conduct the Common Entrance Test for admission of students to the Government seats in professional educational institutions.
(3) Admission to every Government seat shall be made on the basis of merit secured in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Committee through the Karnataka Examinations Authority followed by centralized counseling subject to the reservation policy of the State.
Provided that, if the State decides to adopt the marks secured in the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) to draw the merit list, then the Entrance Test Committee shall in such a scenario the Entrance Test Committee shall only supervise the centralized counseling for the purpose of admission to professional Medical and Dental Courses through a single window procedure conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority.
